| Weapons associated with the martial arts should be treated as natural extensions of our unarmed training. The use of a weapon should enhance, not hinder, our movements and often the opposite happens. This is due to our lack of understanding and connection of the extension concept. So much focus is placed on the tool that the body forgets to extend energy through and beyond the weapon he or she is holding. Trying not to sound too "mystical", it's probably a good idea for you to come visit our weapons training class. |
Because of the nature of the practice, classes are limited to 9th gup Instructor sponsored students and up. The weapons we start with are the Japanese Jo Staff & Japanese Bokken (in preparation for sword). Once training begins with these students can expand to a variety of martial arts weapons including Sai, Nunchaku, Chinese double edge and broadsword, Fan , Escrima, Butterfly Knife, Shuriken, even Klingon Bat'tehl sword, to name a few. |
| Students should safely transport their practice weapons in cases to and from the dojo, and take care of Dojo owned equipment as if it was their own. |
